When I find myself in times of trouble, mother Mary comes to me,
speaking words of wisdom, "Let it be."
And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me,
speaking words of wisdom, "Let it be."
And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree,
there will be an answer, "Let it be."
For though they may be parted there is still a chance that they will see,
there will be an answer, "Let it be."
And when the night is cloudy, there is still a light, that shines on me,
shine until tomorrow, let it be.
I wake up to the sound of music, mother Mary comes to me,
speaking words of wisdom, "Let it be."
Let it be, let it be
Let it be, let it be
Speaking words of wisdom, "Let it be."

i cried like a little baby when i saw that. there is a bit of a time skew on this though since the worst of the detriot riots wrapped up in 1967, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/12th_Street_Riot
let it be was released in 1970 so it would not have been sung at the child's funeral.
still, i cried because of the suffering of those who will not let things go and the suffering of the victims of such people.
if i were still in my before children period, i would seriously think about working with the red cross and other relief agencies, i dont know, maybe because scenes like this make me feel like i have lived but not felt anything. but also that, if i were there, i would not be running or fighting and adding to the conflict, i would be on my knees begging for people to come to their senses and stop killing each other.
perhaps this personality trait is part of the reason i am here in peaceful suburbia. or perhaps suburbia is peaceful because it is here i am practicing peace. though most of the world is at peace, i wish i could just ship it to the places where it is need most.
