Honeymoon == Bride Kidnapping ?
There are some speculation regarding how honeymoons actually came to be. Most women like to think of it as a golden, romantic moment to consummate one's marriage. However, if you think its origin possibly came from the fact that (CYNIC ALERT) a man will isolate his new kidnapped- er, found mate, for about a month in hopes that he will somehow get her pregnant so her family will have NO choice but to let her marry him, you're probably closer to the truth than you think.

Frog Bender 2000
If you're in a bad mood, and want to outlet violence in a whimsical but sick way, please check out Frog Bender 2000. I remember this from back when I was in high school...but it still works for me. Comes with a 10-speed control, and a taunting frog.

Virtual Keyboard
This is by far, one of the coolest (and the most unavailable...due to the price and the fact that it sold like hot cakes) gadget I've seen on ThinkGeek, purveyor of all things cool and sometimes useless that the computing 13375 want but not necessarily need. This Bluetooth Laser Virtual Keyboard is about the size of an iPod, and projects a full size QWERTY keyboard onto any flat surface. It also makes clicking sounds as you type, which I would LOVE to see that in action.
It also mentioned a limited Mac OS X support. I wonder what that means...
Anyway, it's a 180.00 USD and it's out of stock. I should stop drooling and go back to studying...

The Crow Meets Bladerunner
The costumes are made by Cyberoptix and music is by Combichrist. It doesn't get anymore cyberpunk dystopian than this.

Bento In Tally: NEW MENU!
Mrs. Chen's Lunchbox has a new menu for 4/24/2006 to 5/3/2006:
Remember, you must order a box the day before your preferred menu...and since it's a two-person operation, the max number of boxes Mrs. Chen can make is between 30-35.
They're also taking a short break on May 3rd. Be prepared to PICK your lunch that day.
And lastly, THEY'LL DELIVER ALL SUMMER LONG!!! (Cheers from the poor soul who is staying in Tally to work on her project...namely, me.)

Women In Refrigerators!
Or, another way to get superheros to sleep with different women without making them appear to be misogynists. Here's a site devoted to such a technique.

Useless Facts...
Yes, just like a footless bunny getting a pair of converse.
Actually, I just want to introduce you to the latest purveyor of useless knowledge. Say hello to Failed Success.15 April 2006
Lack of Posts
My apology...currently FSU students are experiencing crunch time prior to finals week. Since we do not have a dead week (e.g. a week without classes exclusively for studying), students have to work on assignments as well as study for whatever last minute exams their professors decided to shove into their busy schedule...and this is excluding the finals that most unlucky individuals have to endure.
I actually have several posts in draft form, but cannot post them because either I haven't had the time to proof-read them, or I don't have the right pictures for the articles, etc.
I went to the St. John's Passion by J.S. Bach tonight. They dwelled on the crucifixion for a whopping one hour before we finally got to the resurrection (sort of). Overall, it was an 'ok' concert...I have a love-hate relationship with the University Symphony. They are not consistently good, and I think it's because it is dependent on how excited the members are with the piece that they are performing. When Joshua Bell came a few years ago and played Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto, and after the intermission they performed Dvorak's Symphony No. 9, the orchestra was SUPERB. Tonight, it felt as if most of the members simply wanted to get St. John done and over with. Or maybe it's just me...who knows.

Ok, ok...in all fairness...
The route display for an Airbus A330 crashed in mid-flight, revealing upon reboot that it is running some variant of Linux. Don't worry, nothing happened. Read more about it here.

Racism: Now And Then, Here And There
RFE/RL is an online radio/news site that posts articles regarding hate crimes. This one in particular caught my interest: Two years ago in 2004, a nine year old girl named Khursheva Sultonova, her cousin and her father was targeted by local skinheads. They were beaten and stabbed in St. Petersburg, Russia. She died from her injuries- 11 stab wounds. Khursheva was of Tajik descent. The teenagers who perpetrated the crime were charged with hooliganism.
