Racism: Now And Then, Here And There

RFE/RL is an online radio/news site that posts articles regarding hate crimes. This one in particular caught my interest: Two years ago in 2004, a nine year old girl named Khursheva Sultonova, her cousin and her father was targeted by local skinheads. They were beaten and stabbed in St. Petersburg, Russia. She died from her injuries- 11 stab wounds. Khursheva was of Tajik descent. The teenagers who perpetrated the crime were charged with hooliganism.
